Responsibilities:
* Work as a team member in providing advice/guidance on a wide range of complex IT issues within an architectural and engineering design consultancy.
* Provide technical assistance, answer questions or resolve computer problems for company computer system users in person, via telephone or from remote location. Provide assistance concerning use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, operating systems.
* Set up equipment for employee use; perform/ensure proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software. Install perform minor repairs to hardware, software & peripheral equipment in accordance with design or installation specifications.
* Oversee the daily performance of the computer system. Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service. Prepare evaluations of software or hardware and recommend improvements or upgrades.
* Handle research related to architectural and engineering work, including various building materials supply and availability both locally & globally, via the internet and within IT area and maintain soft and hard copies of same.
* Conduct office automation feasibility studies, including workflow analysis, space design, and cost comparison analysis.
* Maintain a record of data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken and reports required by management.
Requirements:
* Candidate must be a graduate of B.S Computer Science and have substantial background in Construction, ideally, B.S Civil Engineering
* At least 5 years working experience preferably having been employed in an architectural and engineering design services company. Incumbent should be able to relate to various building/construction materials and terminologies as well as be able to read technical drawings.
* Knowledge in AUTOCAD, MS OFFICE, GRAPHICS and relevant architectural software is essential.
